Bongo'Derm has been deejaying and promoting all things jazzual in Dublin Clubland since 1994. Residencies at Velure and Stirfry established his chilled blend of jazz and latin with contemporary urban flavours.

in 1998 Bongo'Derm started the legendary FridayFirst club, out of which the Hotdrop record label was born. Hotdrop teamed up with Berlin's Jazzanova for the release of the ECHOPLEX ep in 2000. FridayFirst mutated from a once monthly club into the bi-weekly Hotdrop Sessions - which featured guest appearances from a whole host of international nu-Jazz and Afro deejays, such as Jazzanova, Jimpster, Comet records, Tim Love Lee, to name a few.

Hotdrop also hosted the Shrine, London's tribute to Fela Kuti's Lagos club, with live appearance from AfroBeat's original engine driver, Tony Allen and Afrobeat 2000.

A change of venues from the old stomping ground of City Arts Centre to the newly built Project Arts Centre led to Bongo'Derm teaming up with Lex Woo during 2001, and Kozmik Disko was born. the Kozmik Disko ethos is quite simple: back to basics clubbing inna projectadelic ethnosphere: Kozmik Disko is the mothership event on key nights like New Years Eve and St. Patrick's Day and is a freestyle mash up of Space Age AfroLatin and Science Fiction Jazz, featuring video artists, fire dancers and guest Dublin club krews in the bar.

Kozmik Disko has developped two other regular club concepts - AFRONOVA and JAZZ:KLUB.

AFRONOVA focuses on guest deejays from the international scene who have been inspired by original african and oriental grooves, sampled into the 21st century with urban dub and break beats. London's Future World Funk crew and Manu from Paris' Comet records, as well as The Shrine's Max and Rita are all in the AFRONOVA line-up.

JAZZ:KLUB is the Kozmik Disko krew's sound system inna jazz:klub stylee.......Bongo'Derm and Lex Woo do the deejaying, selection and scratching, with live MC Little Tree on vocals and Alex McMahon on Bass Clarinet, Alto and Tenor Saxophone. But Jazz:Klub is more than just the music.....Kozmik Disko's cocktail crew Terry and Ollie mix up the Mojitos and Margeritas for the Jazz:klub massive, and there's a multimedia visuals and projections backdrop to it all.
