The exhibition will present recent videos by Tanja Dabo: Welcome (8'54'', 2004), You
are a Beautiful Person (4'45'', 2006) and Nature (3'37'', 2006).
Performative and multidisciplinary art of Tanja Dabo is characterized with smart
criticism. Starting from the introspection, Tanja Dabo transposes personal
experience and frame of mind onto collective and universal level, creating both
humorous and ironical overview of contemporary Croatian society and interpersonal
relations.
Tanja Dabo was born in 1970. From 1985 to1989 she attended the School of Applied
Arts and Design in Zagreb. In 1997 she graduated from the Fine Arts Department at
University of Rijeka. In she 2003 completed post-graduate study (MA) at the Academy
of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia
Since 1993 she has been participating at numerous group and solo exhibitions and
projects both in Croatia and abroad. She lives and works in Rijeka and Zagreb. Since
2000 she has been teaching at the Fine Arts Department of Philosphical Faculty in
Rijeka, later Academy of Applied Arts, University of Rijeka.
