All photos by Donata C. The Disturbance Chorus returns to the Milan Triennale, this time with the run of the entire enormous space. During the Basquiat Show, 1 October 2006. Sunday morning at the Triennale, a big echoing marble hall with monumental staircase and neon work by Maurizio Nannucci. 
The occasion is the Basquiat Show, charmingly publicized with the hair-raising slogan "The dark side of art"... run that by me again? 
The Disturbance Chorus (more numerous than ever) was ready to invade the museum. Noise is a constant at the concerts here... from the dishes in the cafe, buses passing outside, etc. 
The texts all came from paintings by Jean-Michel B. His words make excellent poems/lyrics. They're like a meeting point of sound, thought and graphic representation. And they tell the story of the artworks much better than artcritics. 
Tenor Pablo Karaman courageously led the chorus without a mike, one big voice vs. many. 
The audience was seated on the monumental staircase, which looks great with the light angling in through the cracks. 
Massimo Falascone did a sax cameo. The voices and sax reached the audience's ears from above. The singers moved on the choral parts to shift the echoes through the space. 
Thanks to the many students from Accademia Carrara of Bergamo and all the other participants.
