A publication documenting the first Triangle Artists Workshop in Portugal
Gasworks hosts the Launch of Home and Abroad, a publication documenting the first Triangle Artists Workshop in Portugal through the eyes of the organisers, participants and visitors. Organised by the Lisbon-based collective, Xerem, the workshop brought together a group of local and international artists for a period of two weeks to make work, exchange ideas, skills and further their professional development. The workshop group was composed of artists from countries as diverse as Angola, Colombia, Mozambique, Ghana, India, UK and Portugal, creating a unique opportunity for experimentation, new connections and unlikely collaborations. Members of Xerem will talk about the workshop and its role in developing and supporting cultural and artistic exchanges across political, economic and geographic boundaries. Speakers include Lucia Marques, Monica de Miranda and Jorge Rocha of Xerem; and Alessio Antoniolli, Director of Gasworks and the Triangle Network. The event will be chaired by Tate Britain curator Paul Goodwin.
