Despite Iceland's small population, its capital city of Reykjavik is home to a surprisingly big and lively community of interconnected musicians, filmmakers and artists in which the domains of art, experimental music and performance increasingly merge into each other. In the work of the young video artists, one can frequently discern a close connection to their raw natural surroundings and wild landscape with its spare conditions for life, which many of them address with irony and a feel for the performative.
