Ego Geometria Sum from the Helen Chadwick archive. By concentrating on Ego Geometria Sum – an autobiographical piece that charts Chadwick's life from premature birth to age 30 - this display not only illuminates the artist's working methods and imaginative processes but also something of her personality as well.
"My Personal Museum": Ego Geometria Sum from the Helen Chadwick archive
In 2003 the Henry Moore Institute was given the archive of the Helen Chadwick Estate. Chadwick (1953-96) kept all the research material she used for her works from her student days through to her untimely death. By concentrating on Ego Geometria Sum – an autobiographical piece that charts Chadwick's life from premature birth to age 30 - this display not only illuminates the artist's working methods and imaginative processes but also something of her personality as well. The first large survey of her work, Helen Chadwick: A Retrospective, will be at the Barbican Art Gallery, London from 29 April – 1 August.
