The official ceremony takes place on Monday 21 March 2011. 22 JANUARY The Council of State accepts the appeals filed by the City of Milan and Hines against the sentence of the TAR of Lombardy, which had approved the legal action taken against the variant of PII Garibaldi-Repubblica. The Council finds no basis for the assertion of illegitimacy and for the lower court’s decision, and ratifies the report prepared by the offices of the City, signed by the same functionaries who had testified to the existence of a reduction of standard public facilities that was one of the motives of the legal action itself. 24 JANUARY The owners of the building that contains La Pergola impose eviction of the squat. Isola’s last social center is closed, after a big final party. 20 MAY The Zone Council votes in favor of the Casa della Memoria project, on the condition that other spaces be found for the necessary public services in the neighborhood, and that a daycare center be built as part of PII Isola. 20 JUNE A group of Isola inhabitants identifies an area belonging to the municipal properties department between via Pepe, via Borsieri and the end of the Bussa overpass. The group takes form under the name Isola Pepe Verde, with the goal of restoring public greenery to the neighborhood, after its reduction by the urban plans. The group feels the area can rapidly become a community park for Isola. The out office designs an initial proposal for the park. 11 NOVEMBER Isola Pepe Verde, with an observation on the PGT (Territorial Government Plan, the new name of the PRG), asks the City of Milan to insert the project for a public park in the new plan. 11 DECEMBER At the Bussa overpass, a party is held to inform the inhabitants of the area of via Pepe of the project to transform the nearby lot into a new community park for Isola. *** ART 2010 JANUARY 26 – FEBRUARY 26 Exhibition and presentation of the reader Territoria 4. Occupying the Present”, meetings and events hosted by Libreria Puerto de Libros and Tantrika Shop, curated by Valerio Del Baglivo and Aria Spinelli. With Fabrizio Bellomo, Valentina Maggi, Maria Pecchioli, Mirko Smerdel, Köken Ergun, Collettivo Bouganville and Granaio, Oliver Ressler with Dario Azzellini, Sottobosco, Total Recall. Soecial projects: – Gerald Raunig, presentation of the books Art and Revolution and A Thousand Machines. – “Talk with Köken Ergun”, followed by a discussion with Aria Spinelli, Alterazioni Video, Marco Scotini, Guido Veronese. MAY 8 – JUNE 26 out & Theis. Presentation of out-Office for Urban Transformation at Galleria Contemporanea in Mestre (Italy), curated by Riccardo Caldura. MAY 25 – JUNE 29 “Odds and Ends”. The exhibition hosted at Puerto de Libros bookshop, brings togehter sixteen prototypes of publications by artists and curators of the Master’s Degree in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies at NABA, supervised by Andrea Sala and Bert Theis. JUNE 5 Workshop by Isola Art Center at the Isola Comprehensive School "Rosa Govone", curated by Carmelo Mutalipassi and Mariette Schiltz. The aim is to build the Beggar Robot to raise funds for equipment of the school-laboratories. A project by Sašo Sedlaček that the artist presented to the school during the event “Public Turbulence”. NOVEMBER 27 – DECEMBER 31 “Architettando….” (Under Construction), a project curated by Valerio Del Baglivo, Aria Spinelli and Elvira Vannini, hosted by Puerto de Libros bookshop and Sound Metak. With AUFO-Architectural & Urban Forum, Fabrizio Bellomo, Gianluca Brezza, Nebojsa Milikic, Ferhat Özgür, Peti Park (Fifth Park), Stealth.unlimited and out (Marco Vaglieri). Special projects: How to build a perfect dinner, a fund raising dinner in favor of Punto Rosso Association. Artists and curators from Isola cook recipes of the architects Gianni Pettena, Francesco Careri and Stealth. – No Formula One No Cry, permanent installation in a Milan taxi, by Anri Sala, curated by Fani Zguro. – “AUFO-Architectural & Urban Forum”. Meeting with Marco Biraghi, Ernesto d’Alfonso, Nicolò Privileggio and Lorenzo Degli Esposti at Puerto de Libros bookshop.
