This epic and isolated country is described by the songs of a child, the words of a boy and the example of an Air Force pilot that had to desert not to shoot against his people and actually start a civil war. | ![]() |

1999, APOCALYPSE SHOW, 90 min. Finisterre Productions, Video, super 8 and 16mm. B/w and color. * A science-fiction documentary about the End of the World and the changing of the idea of future. Shot from the point of view of the 4 angels left at the 4 corners of the world, the film starts when the world was flat. Once upon time the world would End at Finisterre in Western Spain. Back in 1999 though, the Center of the world was New York City and the End was called Apocalypse. Other locations are Patmos where Saint John wrote the Revelation Book, Jerusalem, Petra, Mount Sinai, the Red Sea, Lisbon, and the cross of the Atlantic Ocean. The world is flat or round? |

Michajil Strogoff, courier of the Zar in the year 1880 was blinded by the Tartars while delivering an important message to Siberia. When blinded he foresees the future of his country, the present of the year 2000. The novel of Jules Verne becomes a thin line throughout a reportage about contemporary Russia. |

Innerbody sound (thorax, stomach and heart ) on 6 channels bass loudspeakers and modified seat. A river like flood fills the space. A man is lead by the stream. He appears and disappears. Further away a girl is trapped underwater holding on breath. They are not sharing the same water. The sound of her inner motion fills the air. A seat is vibrating with her heart beats. Only one point of the space allows an overall perspective and comprehensive view, the rest is anamorphosy and immersion, to dive in. 3/2000, DYSTOPIA. Acoustic by Jan-Peter E.R. Sonntag.
