Bow Arts Trust is honoured to be working with the TV personality, Loyd Grossman, who has devised, presented, written and produced many TV programmes including Through The Keyhole (1983-2002), MasterChef (1990-2000) and most recently the series The History of British Sculpture (2003).

This years Bow Arts Trust summer exhibition, 'Through The City', selected by Loyd Grossman, follows the diverse work of 9 artists who are inspired by the urban environment.

Becks Futures 2004 nominee Nicoline Van Harskamp painstakingly seeks out and documents people who look eerily alike. Gordon Cheung, Pizza Express Prospects Prize 2004 nominee collages and spray paints surreal urban landscapes using Financial Times. Jon Purnell¹s video piece 'Haunted Tate¹ follows the art group Cack-U-Like on a journey to the Tate Modern dressed in ghostly white bed sheets. Tanya Millards displays her obsessive records of London bus routes. Lee Maelzer shows her masterfully rendered paintings of demolished and condemned buildings. Giles Corby exhibits sculptures depicting melting cityscapes. Silke Dettmers creates precarious structures from reclaimed wood. Robin Dixon¹s paintings of uninhabited industrial landscapes are skilfully minimal adding to the atmosphere of desolation. Mandy Hudsons paintings of paving stones with leaves and plant matter scattered across them reveal beauty and nature in the urban environment.

On 18 June, Loyd will open 'Through The City' at the Nunnery gallery, in London's East End.
Over 1500 people are expected to attend the opening party. Everyone is welcome!
