			Three Exhibitions
				Tue Feb 9 2010 Francia Paris This exhibition of some 120 of Lisette Model's most representative photographs illustrates the very bold and direct approach to reality that made her one of the most singular proponents of street photography, the particular form of documentary photography that developed in New York during the 1940s. Esther Shalev-Gerz's survey exhibition presents an exchange of ideas constructed through acts and encounters of communication. This gathering of works interrogates assumptions and opens the space between understanding and perception, embracing doubt and reframing what operates as a given within a particular moment. Mathilde Rosier makes artworks that are decidedly uncontemporary. Without resorting to nostalgia or passeism, they seem nevertheless out of time.

Her work is presented as split-screen projections on multiple panels, which has the powerful effect of dramatising a psychological perception of space and time for the viewer.

				Sat Jan 16 2010 USA Seattle A Little Ramble. The exhibition features video, drawings, photographs, and new two newly commissioned works. "The idea of landscape is a thread that runs through all the work," says Macdonald, not as a scene butas "a changing space to move through in time." The titles' narrative connects to the artist's own life in direct ways, and his works draw on a range of subjects that have been significant in his practice, but the work is not autobiographical.

'The View from Here', is a large-scale survey of California photography from the 1840s to the present that comprises some 275 photographs. 'Ewan Gibbs: San Francisco' premieres 18 of his urban portraits -drawn by hand- that depict views of the city. 'Long Play: Bruce Conner and the Singles Collection' presents newly acquired video installation.

				Mon Dec 14 2009 Italia Roma Three quarter-tone pieces e' il titolo di una composizione di Charles Ives per 2 pianoforti, uno dei quali e' accordato 1/4 di tono piu' alto dell'altro. Con questa particolare accordatura si ottengono microtonalita' inusuali e suoni che sono fuori dalla notazione temperata. I Three quarter-tone pieces sono per l'artista un armadio, una cassapanca e un pensile da cucina trasformati in bassi da organi... Esposti inoltre tre piccoli dipinti monocromi della serie 'Dew' e il lavoro 'Ouverture per Pietro'.

				Thu Nov 19 2009 Germania Berlin Spruth Magers Berlin presents two installations by croatian artist Maljkovic. His films, drawings, sculptures and installations often evolve around the potential of monuments and pavilions built during a period of optimism in former Yugoslavia in the 1960s and 1970s that have now been neglected or forgotten. Hands And/Or Feet (Part Two) is an exhibition of new work by John Baldessari. He has with this new exhibition both returned to his characteristic strategy of utilising and embellishing found visual material and extended his interest in the physical form and social meaning of particular parts of the human body. Berlin-based artist Cyprien Gaillard evolving around his work 'Cities of Gold and Mirrors' (2009). This 16mm film develops the artist's interest in contemporary landscapes as complex sites of loss and potential, manifested through architecture, monuments and history.

In 1970-71 Conner created a series of lithographs that documented in part many of the "Felt-tip Pen" works on paper, this will also be included in the exhibition; with unique large-scale Punk photographs along with image from a series shot in 1978, Late night movie.

				Fri Oct 16 2009 Gran Bretagna London Talking to Strangers. Calle invited 107 women from a ballerina to a lawyer to use their professional skills to interpret an email in which her partner breaks up with her. The result forms a large-scale installation that transcends the personal to provide a monument to the women involved. The exhibition continues with earlier works and an anthology of key texts about Calle's work. Inci Eviner's film, Harem, 2009 is based on a series of early 19th century engravings by German artist Antoine Ignace Melling, who was invited by Sultan Selim the Third to chronicle the court and city of Constantinople.

				Wed Oct 21 2009 Italia Torino Prima mostra del progetto europeo Face, a cui aderiscono la Fondazione Deste di Atene, la portoghese Fondazione Ellipse, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, La Maison Rouge di Parigi e Magasin 3 di Stoccolma. E' esposta una selezione di circa 40 opere provenienti dalle collezioni di queste istituzioni. Gli autori sono artisti che analizzano la situazione sociale e politica del proprio tempo creando piccoli mondi aperti. La loro pratica si puo' definire arte minore, un termine che richiama la nozione di letteratura minore elaborata da Deleuze&Guattari nella loro analisi dell'opera di Kafka (il titolo della mostra e' quello di un suo racconto).

				Fri Oct 9 2009 Germania Berlin The centerpiece of this exhibition is the sound and video installation The Saints, a restaging of the legendary 1966 World Cup final between West Germany and England in London's Wembley Stadium. Pfeiffer's ground-breaking video and sculpture works explore the power of image culture and reflect how images are made. His works invites the audience to shift focus. The mental space evoked by the sound also materializes upon encountering Pfeiffer's Vitruvian Figure (2009, on loan from Sammlung Goetz), a huge model of a sports stadium.

The central theme is liberation and a fruitless search for utopia. This is presented metaphorically as the journey of an escaped prisoner and his communications along the way. It presents freedom, captivity, utopia and escapism as a loop. With this story Trubkovich aims to highlight the effects nature, borders, identity, nationalism and art itself have on an individual.

				Tue Sep 22 2009 Germania Berlin V-Effekt is an off-site exhibition of works from the Zabludowicz Collection in Berlin. The selected moving image works all take their inspiration from existing material which is made strange by its presentation in the works. Art historical references, found footage or traditional rituals act as initiators which, during the creative process, undergo shifts that obscure the source and unveil a more complex critical situation. 'Men Looking' by gaia Fugazza is one of the images from artist's photo-reportage of Eurosatory Paris 2008, the international Army Fair. Bruno Mazzolini presents the video 'Anema e core'. In 'Selfportrait' Fani Zguro seems to be following the late Rembrandt's track, when the lack of models left him working by himself.

				Wed Jul 15 2009 USA New York The Ego and the Id. A new aluminium sculpture. Soaring 20 feet high, the piece consists of two similar but distinct, brightly colored, looping abstract forms, one bubble gum pink and the other alternating blocks of blue, green, orange, and yellow. Each of the forms curve up at the bottom creating stools that invite passersby to stop, take a seat, and directly engage with the artwork. The sculpture is only truly complete once the viewer interacts with the work.

				Fri Jul 10 2009 Olanda Rotterdam The exhibition is the graduation show of the Master of Fine Art Programme at the Piet Zwart Institute, a postgraduate programme of the Willem de Kooning Academy / Rotterdam University. The project takes the palindrome "neveroddoreven" as its title, because you can invest time in thinking about what it may mean, as you can try to construct implied meaning from spatially organized relations.

				Sat Jul 11 2009 Spagna Leon Ugo Rondinone opens with ''The Night of Lead'', a complex and melancholic artistic experience that reflects his fascination with rituals, dreams, poetry. The ''New Silk Roads'' is the first show featuring the ongoing ambitious urban research project of the theorist and activist Kyong Park. The museum presents also Jorge Galindo's most recent body of work, ''La Pintura y la Furia'' (The Painting and the Fury) and Cyprien Gaillard who display etchings, paintings, drawings and two videos, all dealing with landscapes. In the Vitrinas project: Printed Matter, the largest non-profit organisation in the world devoted to promoting publications made by artists.
