The gondoliere's hour, as the psycoanalist's one, lasts 50 minutes. The tariff is fixed, and you will find it hard to lower it. All gondolieres speak a little of English and have a slight knowledge of Venice' art and history. But do not expect them to sing!

It was in 1881 that a regular liner with a mechanical propulsion vessels started in Venice. Its origin was French and for the first time people could admire the ''VAPORETTO'' sailing along the CANAL GRANDE.
